Zoe Pia is a talented clarinettist and composer from Sardinia, born in 1986 in Mogoro. She discovered her passion for music early, receiving her first clarinet as a child. Zoe graduated from the Music Conservatory of Cagliari and further specialized with top honors at the Conservatory of Rovigo, where she also studied contemporary classical music, live electronics, jazz, and musical composition. Her versatile career includes collaborations with notable jazz and classical musicians, embracing improvisation and deep exploration of her Sardinian musical heritage, as seen in projects like Shardana and her fusion of tradition with contemporary sounds.
Her work often blends Sardinian traditional music with avant-garde and electronic elements, notably in her collaboration with the vocal quartet Tenores di Orosei on *Indindara*, which merges sacred and secular polyphonic singing with modern instrumentation and improvisation. Zoe also leads the Shardana project, which reflects her artistic vision deeply rooted in Sardinia’s cultural identity. Beyond performing, she is active as an artistic director and educator, continuously pushing boundaries in jazz and contemporary music while sharing her rich Sardinian heritage with global audiences.
