Aapo Häkkinen is a Finnish harpsichordist and early music specialist known for his expressive performances and deep understanding of historical performance practices. A student of legendary harpsichordist Bob van Asperen and later a participant in masterclasses with Gustav Leonhardt, Häkkinen has carved out an impressive international career as both a soloist and conductor. He is especially noted for his interpretations of Baroque and Classical repertoire, performing works by Bach, C.P.E. Bach, and Crusell with technical precision and emotional depth.
Beyond his solo work, Häkkinen is also the artistic director of the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, with whom he regularly explores historically informed approaches to orchestral and operatic works.
