The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band

The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, often abbreviated as WCPAEB, was an American psychedelic rock band that formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1960s. The group was known for its eclectic mix of musical styles, blending elements of rock, pop, and avant-garde. Founded by Bob Markley, who brought the financial backing and the concept, and musician brothers Shaun and Danny Harris, the band's lineup was completed by guitarist and songwriter Michael Lloyd. They distinguished themselves with their unpredictable compositions and surreal lyrics, reflecting the experimental edge of their name.

Their album "A Child's Guide To Good and Evil" (1968) is considered a masterpiece of the psychedelic genre and is revered for its inventive approach to songwriting and production. Their earlier works "Part One" (1967) and "Vol. 2" (1967) also showcase the band's innovative use of studio techniques and their talent for harmonies and layered sounds. The exploratory nature of their albums helped solidify their cult status among fans of psychedelic and experimental rock. Although they never achieved mainstream success, the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band's music remains influential and has been rediscovered by new generations of listeners intrigued by their unique sound and artistic vision.
