Menace burst onto the UK punk scene in 1976 with a raw, no-nonsense sound that captured the frustration and energy of working-class youth. Formed in London, the original lineup—frontman Charlie Casey, guitarist Noel Martin, bassist Steve Tannett, and drummer John "Biff" Smith—became known for anthems like "G.L.C." Their 1977 *G.L.C.* EP and later compilations like *The Original Masters (1977-1980)* showcase their punchy, street-level punk ethos, blending snarling riffs with lyrics about everyday struggles.
