**Jane In Palma** is the electronic music project of **Julian Smith**, a musician and visual artist based on the island of Mallorca. After relocating to Majorca, Smith channeled a life-changing experience—including a relationship break-up and culture shock from living in a remote finca—into his debut album *Primitive Thoughts* (2016), which explored these themes alongside abstract paintings as a form of cathartic expression. His sound spans an eclectic range, drawing from his punk rock roots and electronic styles, as evidenced in albums like *Es Jardi* (2018) and the more expansive *Safety Net* (2020), which features everything from Devo-esque energy to dreamy textures and hip-hop influenced breaks. Smith's work is characterized by lo-fi intimacy and raw production, creating a distinctive sonic landscape that bridges his early musical influences—including the virtuoso guitar work of his older brother—with contemporary electronic production.
