Paweł Kotla

Paweł Kotla is a Polish-British conductor, arts manager, and cultural diplomacy expert. Born on June 5, 1972, in Szczecin, Poland, he has had a distinguished career in music. Kotla studied symphony and opera conducting at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, musicology and performance practice at Oxford University, and arts management at Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He has worked with numerous orchestras globally, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Polish National Philharmonic, and orchestras in Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and more. Kotla has also been involved in significant cultural projects, such as the I, Culture Orchestra during Poland's EU presidency in 2011, and he currently directs the "Beskid Classics" music festival.

Kotla's recent work includes conducting for albums like "Calisia 2: New Music for Strings" and "Przybylski: Musica in forma di rosa (Live)". He has conducted world premieres of works by various composers and served as a juror in music competitions. In recognition of his contributions, Kotla was awarded the Medal of Merit for Polish Culture in 2024. His extensive experience and dedication to cultural diplomacy have made him a notable figure in the international music scene.
