C.J. Chenier

C.J. Chenier is a celebrated zydeco musician and the son of the legendary "King of Zydeco," Clifton Chenier. Carrying on his father's musical legacy, C.J. has carved out his own place in the genre with his soulful accordion playing and high-energy performances. He took over the Red Hot Louisiana Band after his father's passing in 1987 and has continued to breathe new life into the traditional Creole sound while adding touches of funk, blues, and R&B.

With albums like Too Much Fun, The Big Squeeze, and Can't Sit Down, C.J. Chenier has brought zydeco music to a wider audience, performing at major festivals and venues across the U.S. and internationally. His charismatic stage presence and deep respect for the roots of zydeco make him a beloved figure in the genre and an important torchbearer of Creole culture.
