Saso Avsenik & seine Oberkrainer
Sašo Avsenik & seine Oberkrainer are carrying on the legendary Oberkrainer music tradition started by Sašo's grandfather, Slavko Avsenik. Formed in 2009, this young ensemble is led by Sašo Avsenik, grandson of the famous Slovenian accordionist and composer Slavko Avsenik. They made their TV debut in November 2009 on the popular show "Musikantenstadl", introducing their blend of traditional Oberkrainer style with youthful energy to a wide audience.
The group continues to perform and record, keeping the Avsenik family's musical legacy alive. They've appeared at notable venues and events, including the Avsenik Festival in Begunje, Slovenia, which honors Slavko Avsenik's memory. With support from Sašo's grandfather Slavko and great-uncle Vilko, the band combines respect for tradition with their own fresh take on the beloved Oberkrainer sound.
