Soren Kinch Hansen

Søren Kinch Hansen is a renowned conductor and educator, born in 1955. He has been the regular conductor of the vocal ensemble GAIA, one of Denmark's most esteemed choirs, for over twenty years. Additionally, he conducts the Århus Sinfonietta and serves as a lecturer in choral and ensemble conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in Århus. His freelance work includes conducting prominent ensembles such as the Danish National Vocal Ensemble, Ensemble 2000, Ars Nova Copenhagen, and the Swedish Radio Choir. Hansen has also been the artistic director of the Chorus of the Danish National Opera in Århus since 2003, where he has led performances of both classical and contemporary opera works.

Hansen's educational background includes training at the music academies in Esbjerg, Århus, and Stockholm. His discography includes works by notable composers such as Axel Borup-Jørgensen, Hanne Ørvad, and Poul Ruders, reflecting his involvement in diverse musical projects. His contributions to the classical music scene are marked by his versatility and dedication to both choral and orchestral conducting.
