Misþyrming

Misþyrming is an Icelandic black metal band that has been carving a name for itself in the extreme metal scene with a unique blend of ferocity and atmospheric intensity. Formed in Reykjavik in 2013 by main songwriter D.G., the band quickly gained attention in the metal community with their debut album, "Söngvar elds og óreiðu," released in 2015. This initial offering presented a raw and unapologetic vision of black metal, wrapped in chaos and a harsh, almost oppressive sound that put them on the map as one of Iceland's most promising black metal acts.

Following their breakout release, Misþyrming continued to evolve and refine their sound, leading to their critically acclaimed 2019 album "Algleymi." The album signified a shift towards a more dynamic and melodic approach while still maintaining the group’s signature intensity and darkness. The band's name, which roughly translates to "abuse" or "mistreatment" from Icelandic, reflects the dark tone and nature of their music. Misþyrming performs with an unrelenting energy that keeps the old spirit of black metal alive while pushing its boundaries. Their recent singles "Með hamri" and "Hof," along with their explosive live performances, have solidified Misþyrming's status as a key player in the contemporary black metal landscape, drawing praise for their innovative approach and contributing to the rising reputation of the burgeoning Icelandic black metal scene.
