Excide

Excide is a five-piece hardcore and post-hardcore band featuring vocalist Tyler Washington, Gill Gonzalez, Gage Lanza, Caleb Hogue, and Jacob Paris. The band emerged during 2020 with a boundary-breaking signature style that blends '90s-flavored hardcore with propulsive post-hardcore rhythms. Their independent debut album *Deliberate Revolver* dropped in September 2022, showcasing an impressive evolution that balanced aggressive guitar work and vocal intensity with atmospheric and introspective elements. The record caught the attention of major music outlets and eventually led to Excide signing with SharpTone Records, marking a significant milestone in their career trajectory.

Following the momentum from their debut, Excide released the two-pack single *Humdinger* in 2024 before announcing their second full-length album *Bastard Hymns*, which released on November 28, 2025. Described as "fuzzy, rocky, groovy, angry" and steeped in the experiences of growing up in Appalachia, the new record finds the band pushing into uncharted sonic territory with co-writing and production support from Austin Coupe. With members spread across the Carolinas, Tyler Washington also drums for the band Foreign Hands, bringing a disciplined rhythmic sensibility to his vocal performances with Excide.
