JMMR

JMMR is the musical project of Jordan McLean, a Grammy-nominated trumpeter best known for his work with the band Antibalas. Emerging with a fresh genre he calls "Electrobeat," JMMR combines electronic music elements with funky, rhythmic trumpet-led grooves. Since its inception around 2019, JMMR has been about "resisting despair" through vibrant, danceable sounds. The debut album *Resistance is Fertile* was released in 2025 on Nublu Records, showcasing this unique electro-funk style with energetic and socially conscious vibes.

Jordan McLean's background in jazz and Afrobeat as part of Antibalas informs the rich musical layering in JMMR's work, blending live instrumentation and electronic production.
