Renegade Soundwave

Renegade Soundwave emerged from the flourishing London underground scene in the late 1980s as an influential and pioneering electronic music group. Founded by Danny Briottet, Gary Asquith, and Carl Boniface, the band became known for its innovative blend of electronica, techno, dub, and rock elements, creating an immersive sound that resonated within the club culture of the time. Renegade Soundwave's music is characterized by heavy basslines, rhythmic sampling, and an embrace of the diverse sounds that electrified the contemporary music landscape.

The group's body of work includes influential releases like their debut album "Soundclash" (1989) and the follow-up "In Dub" (1990), which demonstrated their mastery of bass-driven music and dub-infused soundscapes. The next full-length studio release, "Howyoudoin?" in 1994, showcased a further evolution of their sound, while their compilation "RSW 1987-1995," issued posthumously, serves as an essential retrospective of their pioneering work. Though the band eventually disbanded in the mid-90s, their legacy is carried forth in the compilation "The Next Chapter Of Dub," a testament to their lasting influence on the electronic and dance music genres. Renegade Soundwave's innovative approach to production and genre fusion continues to inspire artists and remains a cornerstone of the breakbeat and electronic music movements.
