B.G.

B.G., born Christopher Dorsey on September 3, 1980, is a prominent figure in the hip hop genre, primarily known for his work originating from New Orleans, Louisiana. Bursting onto the scene in the early 1990s, B.G. gained initial fame as one of the youngest rappers in the seminal group Hot Boys, alongside Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk. The collective was pivotal in establishing Cash Money Records as a powerhouse in the Southern rap scene. B.G.'s unique voice, gritty lyrical content, and authentic street narratives quickly earned him a dedicated following.

As a solo artist, B.G.'s most successful album "Chopper City in the Ghetto" featured the hit single "Bling Bling," a track that went on to become a cultural phenomenon and added a new term to the hip-hop lexicon. Despite personal struggles, including a public fight with heroin addiction and legal issues, B.G.'s music remains influential. His recent releases showcase his versatility as an artist and his ability to adapt to the evolving soundscape of modern hip-hop. Whether collaborating with contemporary producers like Mike WiLL Made-It or embracing international sounds in tracks like "四月飘雪," B.G.'s enduring presence in the scene is a testament to his talent and resilience as an artist.
