Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin, an English rock band formed in London in 1968, is heralded as one of the progenitors of hard rock and heavy metal, although their musical style encompassed a broad range of influences including blues and folk. The group consisted of vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. Their heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia, has earned them recognition as one of the cornerstones of the modern rock genre, and they are often cited as one of the most influential bands in the history of rock music.

The band's eponymous debut album, "Led Zeppelin," released in 1969, kicked off a streak of hit albums, including "Led Zeppelin II," "Led Zeppelin III," and their untitled fourth album, which is often referred to as "Led Zeppelin IV" and includes the iconic track "Stairway to Heaven." Their success continued through the 1970s with albums like "Houses of the Holy" and the double album "Physical Graffiti." Despite the tragic death of drummer John Bonham in 1980 and the subsequent disbandment, Led Zeppelin's legacy has endured. Posthumous releases, such as live recordings and remastered editions of their previous work, continue to introduce the power of Led Zeppelin to new generations. Their impact on music is ceaseless, marked by numerous awards, high-selling records, and a firm place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
