The Silence Broken

The Silence Broken is an alternative rock metal band from Rochester, New York, formed in May 2006. The band's name is inspired by the video game Silent Hill 2. Initially, they played their first show in 2007 and began working on their debut album with producer Steve Veremeychik. Over the years, the band has undergone lineup changes, with Nik Humphreys joining as vocalist in 2009. Their debut full-length album, "In Search of Hope," was released in 2011, featuring singles like "My Widow" and "Poor Carmine..." The band continued to support national acts and eventually worked on their sophomore album, "The Pendulum Effect," which was due for release in late 2016.

The band's current lineup includes Nik Humphreys on vocals, Jones on guitar, John LaMere on bass, Myka Yott on keyboards, and Michael Barnes on drums. They have supported notable acts like Mushroomhead and Smile Empty Soul, showcasing their energetic live performances. Their music often incorporates themes from popular culture, as seen in their song "Poor Carmine...," inspired by the video game Gears of War. With a blend of alternative rock and metal elements, The Silence Broken continues to evolve their sound and engage audiences with their dynamic performances.
