Paddlefish

Paddlefish is a Chicago-based indie rock band led by principal songwriter Owen Misterovich. Their debut album, *Flyer*, captures the bittersweet experience of being caught between youth and adulthood. Written largely during Owen's first year away from his hometown of Springfield, Missouri, the album tells a personal coming-of-age story filled with vivid tales of adaptation and growth, inspired by his move to Chicago at 17 and the challenges he faced living in a windowless dorm room during a harsh winter. With lush arrangements that blend guitar textures, piano, organ, and mellotron, Paddlefish creates a rich, reflective sound that balances catchy hooks with emotional depth.

Owen Misterovich, who also handles guitar and vocals, is joined in the band by members including Bayden Fraley and Missy Farrel. Influenced by artists like Neil Young, The Band, The Flaming Lips, and Wilco, Paddlefish’s music combines layered instrumentation with thoughtful lyrics and storytelling. Their body of work includes albums such as *Lidsville* and *Spill Me!* alongside *Flyer*, showcasing their evolving sound and capturing youthful disillusionment and acceptance with a mature musical approach.
