Mohombi Nzasi Moupondo, known mononymously as Mohombi, is a Congolese-Swedish musician, singer, composer, and dancer. Born on October 17, 1986, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mohombi moved to Sweden at age 14, where he began his music career. He first gained recognition as one half of the Swedish hip hop duo Avalon, but it was his solo work that catapulted him into international stardom. Mohombi's music is a vibrant blend of Afrobeat, dancehall, R&B, and pop, which is reflective of his diverse cultural background.
