Hajime Mizoguchi

Hajime Mizoguchi is a Japanese cellist and composer born on April 23, 1960, in Tokyo. He started playing piano at age 3 and took up the cello at 11. Mizoguchi studied at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, majoring in cello from 1978 to 1985.

In 1986, Mizoguchi released his debut album "Half Inch Dessert" as a composer, arranger, and performer. He's known for his work on anime soundtracks, including collaborations with Yoko Kanno on "The Vision of Escaflowne" series and composing for "Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade". Mizoguchi has released over 20 albums throughout his career, spanning various genres from classical to experimental and ambient music.
