Sauli Zinovjev

Born in 1988, Sauli Zinovjev is a Finnish composer making waves in the world of contemporary classical music, celebrated for his emotionally charged and immersive orchestral soundscapes. After studying at the Sibelius Academy and spending time abroad at the University of Music in Karlsruhe, Zinovjev has focused primarily on orchestral works, with commissions from major ensembles like the Oslo Philharmonic, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Finnish and Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestras, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. His music is often described as full of vitality and panache, and he has collaborated with leading musicians such as Klaus Mäkelä, Víkingur Ólafsson, and Pekka Kuusisto.

Zinovjev’s work includes standout pieces like *Batteria*, a breakthrough orchestral work, and chamber music like *Sospirando 2 "Folio"* for accordion, cello, and live electronics, which showcases his knack for combining acoustic and electronic sounds with elegant drama. He continues to receive commissions and perform internationally, with new compositions premiering regularly across Europe and beyond.
