Lloronas

Lloronas, also known as Las Lloronas, is a Brussels-based trio of women—Sura Solomon, Amber in ’t Veld, and Marieke Werner—who started out as street musicians united by their passions for sociology, activism, and art. Their music is an evocative blend of acoustic melodies and slam poetry, featuring intimate, multilingual feminist lyrics that explore themes like feminism, privilege, and social commitment with both sharpness and hope. With influences ranging from Klezmer and Flamenco to Blues, their sound is rich in vocal harmonies and melancholic melodies, creating a deeply emotional and original folk-inspired experience. They have earned a reputation for powerful live performances that balance vulnerability and strength, often described as a mix of lament, daydream, and battle cry.

Having toured extensively across Europe, Las Lloronas have released albums like *Soaked* and *Out of the Blue* and numerous singles, including "Temporary Lovers," "Maggot House," and "Year of the Puta." Their stage presence and unique fusion of traditional and contemporary styles have won them acclaim, including a “Remarkable Live Performance” award from the Belgian Worldwide Music Network.
