Bradley Christopher Jones, born May 20, 1963, in New York City, is a versatile American jazz bassist known for his work on both bass guitar and double bass. Starting drums as a child, he picked up bass guitar at 12 and expanded to double bass at 18, studying under Lisle Atkinson. With a music education degree from Jersey City State College, Jones has collaborated with notable artists like Muhal Richard Abrams, Ornette Coleman, and Elvin Jones. He leads groups such as AKA Alias and the Brad Jones Quartet, blending creative jazz styles in albums like *The Embodiment* (2009) and *Simplicity* (2006).
Jones has also crossed into smooth jazz and studio work, releasing albums like *Country-Wide* (2011) and the *Circle Round* EP (2017, with Noël Akchoté). His style is celebrated for combining traditional jazz elements with modern influences, earning praise for both originality and musicianship.
