Victorio Vergara was a Panamanian musician and composer known for his contributions to the development of the cumbia genre. Born in 1904, Vergara began his musical career as a guitarist and vocalist, eventually forming his own band, "Los Diablos Rojos." He is credited with popularizing the cumbia rhythm and incorporating elements of jazz and other genres into his music.
