The Iceman Special

The Iceman Special is a vibrant four-piece band originally from the swamps of Louisiana and now based in New Orleans, known for their unique blend of psychedelic rock, funk, zydeco, and organized musical chaos. The band consists of brothers Charlie and Will Murry, Steve Staples on lead guitar, and Hunter Romero on drums. Their music carries the spirit of the 70s psychedelic era while infusing Louisiana's rich musical traditions, including zydeco — a distinctive rhythm often subtly layered under their psychedelic soundscapes. They are celebrated for high-energy live shows featuring innovative visuals and a powerful, genre-defying sound marked by smooth yet screeching guitars, dancing bass lines, driving drums, and compelling vocals.

Since forming about four years ago, The Iceman Special has built a solid reputation on the festival circuit and within the New Orleans scene, having played at Jazz Fest and famous local venues like Tipitina’s and the House of Blues. Their albums, including *Dr. Dude’s Masquerade Parade* and *Zycordia*, showcase their mastery of blending rock, funk, reggae, disco, and metal into immersive, danceable sonic experiences.
