Amar Sehmbi is a Punjabi pop and bhangra singer born on March 8, 1998, in Shimlapuri, Ludhiana, Punjab. He catapulted to fame by winning the seventh season of the singing competition show Voice of Punjab in 2017. His musical journey took an interesting turn after he faced rejection from the show Awaaz Punjab Di in 2015—rather than giving up, he took it as motivation and spent countless hours practicing by the canal side in Ludhiana. He trained at the Tejwant Kittu Music Academy and has even won the state-level Shabad Gayan competition three years in a row.
Since his competitive success, Amar has released numerous hit tracks that have resonated with audiences across streaming platforms. His most popular songs include "Khandani Bande," "Debate," "Sikandar," "Chief Guest," and "Love You," with some of his tracks accumulating millions of plays. With over 376,000 monthly listeners on streaming platforms and a strong social media presence, he continues to release fresh music, including recent projects like the "Sardar Munda" EP in 2025. Beyond music, Amar is known for his down-to-earth personality and love of wearing traditional mufflers, often performing at jagrans and stage shows throughout Punjab.
