Ankit Babu Adhikari is a multifaceted artist from Kathmandu, known for his work as an author, musician, singer, and lyricist. He began his musical journey by composing and performing songs for a post-modern play titled "Coma: A Political Sex" in 2014. Ankit gained wider recognition after participating in "Nepali Tara" and has since released several critically acclaimed songs, including "Ram Naam" and "Nau Futey Bhoot." His music often incorporates storytelling, earning him the title of "Nepal's Singing Storyteller" by publications like The Diplomat. Before transitioning to music, Ankit worked as a journalist for major Nepali newspapers like The Kathmandu Post and The Himalayan Times.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Ankit is also a co-author of the book "Sherpa: Stories of Life and Death from the Forgotten Guardians of Everest," a narrative non-fiction that explores the lives of Sherpas. This book was shortlisted for the 2023 Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature. Ankit's diverse talents span across music, literature, and journalism, making him a unique figure in Nepal's cultural scene.
