Edguy is a German power metal band that was formed in 1992 by vocalist Tobias Sammet, guitarists Jens Ludwig and Dirk Sauer, bassist Tobias "Eggi" Exxel, and drummer Felix Bohnke. Taking their name from a nickname given to their physics teacher, the band brought together the infectious energy of heavy metal with a unique sense of melody and bombast, carving out a niche for themselves in the European metal scene.
