Prince Charming

Prince Charming is an American electronic artist known for blending genres such as illbient, ambient dub, trip hop, and spoken word into his music. Born on October 31, 1969, he grew up immersed in Detroit’s vibrant underground scene, where he soaked up influences from techno, hip hop, blues, jazz, and punk rock. As a teenager in the 1980s, he cut his teeth DJing at house parties, performing as a poet, and playing bass in bands like Bats on Skates, all while absorbing sounds from local radio and live shows. His eclectic style reflects a childhood spent around musicians, martial artists, and disco dancers, and he continues to be a regular at Detroit’s legendary techno festivals. Prince Charming is also recognized for his creative use of field recordings and DIY four-track experimentation, which shape his atmospheric and genre-defying releases.

His recent works—such as "Cool Green Moss," "Visionary Excellence," and "CCTV"—showcase his dedication to crafting immersive soundscapes that blur the lines between electronic, ambient, and experimental music.
