Parenthetical Girls is an experimental pop duo from San Francisco, California, formed in 2001. The band consists of Zac Pennington and Adam Pierce, who met while working at a record store. Their music is characterized by its eclectic mix of genres, including pop, folk, and electronica, as well as its often humorous and surreal lyrics. Parenthetical Girls have released several albums and EPs, including "Privilege" (2018), "The Scottish Play" (2015), and "Entanglements" (2011). They have toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and have collaborated with a variety of artists, including Xiu Xiu, Deerhoof, and Ariel Pink.
