Tyron Benoit is a talented singer, guitarist, accordionist, and songwriter from Houma, Louisiana, deeply rooted in the rich musical traditions of his home. Growing up surrounded by classic country legends like George Jones and Hank Williams, as well as Cajun folk influences from his grandfather and classic rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, he developed a diverse musical palette. After serving as a U.S. Marine in Operation Desert Storm, Tyron moved to New York City to study acting, where he began writing songs with his brother Tate. Together they formed the band Too Fish, gaining a following in Colorado and the Midwest. Returning to New Orleans in 2003, Tyron became an integral part of the city’s musical fabric, even leading a band for Mardi Gras Indian legend Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and blending styles from blues, funk, reggae, and rock.
Today, Tyron fronts the band Doussan Garrett Benoit, which combines blues, rock, and Louisiana cultural influences with his passionate vocals and energetic accordion playing. His music reflects a blend of Louisiana bayou roots and Americana, earning him invitations to major festivals like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Telluride Blues & Brews, and even international events such as Switzerland’s Lucerne Blues Festival. His 2022 album *Waiting on Friday* and recent releases showcase his storytelling skill and versatile sound, which has captivated audiences from intimate venues to large festival stages.
