**Dariush Eghbali**, often known simply as Dariush, is a legendary Iranian singer and songwriter born on February 4, 1951, in Tehran. He began showing his musical talent at the age of nine and was introduced to the public by Hassan Khayatbashi on Iranian national television at age twenty. Dariush quickly rose to fame with his iconic song "Don't Tell Me You Love Me," which helped open a new era in Iranian music. His powerful voice and emotionally charged performances blend Persian pop with traditional and fusion elements, often carrying themes of love, freedom, justice, and social activism. He founded the Ayeneh Foundation, supporting those affected by addiction and other social issues.
