Natron

Natron is an Italian death metal band from Apulia, formed in 1992. Initially starting as a hobby project under the name "Piper of Hamelin," they soon changed their name to Natron, inspired by the ancient Egyptian use of natron in mummification. Over the years, Natron has developed a distinctive sound that has contributed to the Italian death metal scene. Their discography includes notable albums such as *Hung, Drawn & Quartered*, *Negative Prevails*, *Bedtime for Mercy*, *Livid Corruption*, *Rot Among Us*, and *Grindermeister*. The band has undergone lineup changes, with current members including Nicola Bavaro, Domenico Mele, Alyosha Danisi, and Max Marzocca.

Natron's music career has been marked by various label affiliations and live performances. After releasing several albums on smaller labels, they signed with Holy Records but later parted ways. In 2009, they joined Metal Age Productions, releasing *Rot Among Us*. Despite challenges with their label, Natron celebrated their 20th anniversary by re-recording early material for *Grindermeister*. This album aimed to improve the sound quality of their early work, which was initially released in limited quantities. Natron's commitment to their craft has made them a respected name in the death metal genre.
