The Sherbs

The Sherbs were an Australian rock band formed in the early 1980s as a continuation of the popular 1970s band Sherbet. Following a name change from Sherbet to The Sherbs, the group embraced a more contemporary sound, incorporating elements of new wave and progressive rock into their music. Known for their tight harmonies and polished production, The Sherbs released albums like The Skill (1980) and Defying Gravity (1981), which showcased their attempt to break into the U.S. market with a fresh direction.

Despite critical acclaim for their musical evolution, The Sherbs found limited commercial success internationally but remained a notable part of Australia's music history. Their single "I Have the Skill" gained some traction on American rock radio, reflecting their ability to blend catchy hooks with more ambitious musical arrangements.
