They gained recognition within the UK hip hop scene with their early releases, particularly *Guilty As Charged* (1990) and *Tales From the Wasteland* (1991), known for their catchy rap delivery and intricate use of samples. As the rave scene evolved, The Criminal Minds shifted towards breakbeat hardcore and early jungle, releasing notable works like *Baptised By Dub*. Over the years, the group underwent changes, with DJ Spatts being a consistent figure. Recent years have seen collaborations with new members, including Zak and guest appearances by artists like DJ Jerome Hill.
