Cowboy Junkies

Cowboy Junkies are a Canadian alt-country/blues/folk rock band, renowned for their understated, languid sound and the ethereal vocals of lead singer Margo Timmins. Formed in Toronto in 1985, the band initially gained attention with their second album, "The Trinity Session," recorded at Toronto's Church of the Holy Trinity with a single microphone. Their approach to blending blues, country, rock, and jazz garnered them a devoted cult following.

The lineup, comprised of siblings Margo, Michael (guitar), and Peter Timmins (drums), along with Alan Anton (bass), has been consistent throughout their career. Over the decades, Cowboy Junkies have been prolific in their output, exemplified by the ambitious "Nomad Series," a collection of four thematic albums released over 18 months. With their recent releases such as "All That Reckoning" and "Ghosts," the band has continued to explore themes of love, loss, and reflection, cementing their status as torchbearers of the introspective side of alternative country. Their music maintains its original spellbinding, melancholic essence while still pivoting to reflect on contemporary issues and the complexities of the human experience.
