Dimiter Petkov is a Bulgarian bass-baritone who has performed on some of the world's most prestigious opera stages. He is known for his powerful voice and his charismatic stage presence. Petkov has sung leading roles in operas by Verdi, Puccini, and Wagner, among others. He has also performed in concerts and recitals around the world.
Petkov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1972. He studied singing at the National Academy of Music in Sofia and at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He made his professional debut in 1997 at the Sofia Opera. Since then, he has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, the Vienna State Opera, and the Teatro alla Scala.
