Joan Boronat Sanz

Joan Boronat Sanz is a Spanish organist, harpsichordist, and baritone born in 1986 in Alicante, Spain. He completed his musical studies at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC) in Barcelona and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, where he currently works as a répétiteur. Joan is known for his open-minded and experimental approach to basso continuo, exploring both ensemble and solo performance contexts. He performs internationally with prestigious Baroque ensembles such as La Cetra Barockorchester Basel, Collegium 1704 Prague, Musica Fiorita, and Concerto Köln, among others.

His musical interests are wide-ranging, including research on Spanish basso continuo, traditional Scottish Baroque music, and music composed by Jesuits in 16th-century Japan. He also collaborates with theater, visual arts, and electronic music projects. Beyond performing, Joan is active in pedagogy and has participated as an instructor in masterclasses, such as those at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana. Outside music, he enjoys jazz, Celtic music, nature, and reading, showing a vibrant and curious artistic personality that continually seeks new musical and cultural adventures.
