Lone Wanderer

**Lone Wanderer** is a funeral doom metal band from Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, formed in 2014 by guitarist and vocalist Bruno Schotten along with other organizers of the Doom Over Freiburg Festival. They kicked off with a conceptual approach, dubbing their sound "Schopenhauerian Funeral Doom," and dropped their debut *Principles* EP in self-release that same year, followed by the acclaimed full-length *The Majesty of Loss* in 2016—which got reissued on vinyl by Fucking Kill Records in 2020.

The band kept the momentum with *The Faustian Winter* in 2020 (also via Fucking Kill, with mixing by Damon Good of Mournful Congregation and mastering by Dan Swanö), and they've been hitting stages across Europe since day one, from local spots in Mannheim and Hamburg to festivals like Dutch Doom Days, Berlin Swamp Fest, and Doom Over Vienna. Their latest, *Exequiae* (out January 2026 on High Roller Records), dives even deeper into themes of grief and despair with epic tracks like the 25-minute "To Rest Eternally," featuring the current lineup of Bruno Schotten (vocals/guitar), Jonas Weber (guitar), Simon Brooker (bass), and Jakob Zeblin (drums).
