The Starting Line

The Starting Line is an American pop-punk band hailing from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group was formed in 1999 by lead singer Ken Vasoli, guitarists Matt Watts and Mike Golla, bassist Tom Gryskiewicz, and drummer Tom Gryskiewicz. They quickly became prominent figures within the early 2000s pop-punk scene, garnering a significant following with the release of their debut album "Say It Like You Mean It" in 2002, which featured their breakout single "The Best of Me." Their music is characterized by its infectious melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and the energetic fusion of pop sensibilities with punk rock energy.

Over the years, The Starting Line has released several well-received albums including "Based on a True Story" in 2005 and "Direction" in 2007. Despite going on hiatus in 2008, the group has continued to impact the genre with occasional tours and releases such as "Anyways" in 2016, which showcased a matured sound while still echoing the youthful exuberance of their earlier work. The Starting Line has also demonstrated their enduring appeal and connection with their fans through live recordings, as evidenced by "Direction Live At Studio 4," "The Best Of Live At Studio 4," and "Based On A True Story Live At Studio 4," which capture the raw energy and emotive performance style that have defined their career.
