Rune Bergmann

Rune Bergmann is a highly acclaimed Norwegian conductor known for his dynamic and versatile approach to music. He has gained recognition as one of the most talented Scandinavian conductors, with an extensive repertoire that spans classical, romantic, operatic, and contemporary works. Bergmann studied conducting at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki under Leif Segerstam and earlier at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. His career includes conducting numerous European orchestras, such as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, as well as North American orchestras like the New Mexico Philharmonic and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

Bergmann currently holds positions as the artistic director and chief conductor of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and the music director of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also known for his work with the Swiss Argovia Philharmonic. His recent recordings include works by Mieczysław Karłowicz, such as "Symphony in E Minor, Op. 7 'Odrodzenie'" and "Poematy Symfoniczne". Bergmann's versatility extends beyond classical music; he is a talented multi-instrumentalist and an ardent jazz fan.
