Charles Rosekrans was an American conductor who specialized in opera. Born in 1934 in San Francisco, he had a notable career conducting for the Houston Grand Opera until 1975. Rosekrans was known for his work with both established and contemporary operatic pieces, conducting works by composers like Wagner, Saint-Saëns, Puccini, Verdi, and Mozart. His recordings include collaborations with renowned soprano Renata Scotto. Rosekrans passed away in Houston on September 8, 2009, at the age of 75.
