Abnormality
Abnormality was a Massachusetts-based technical death metal wrecking crew that formed in 2005, delivering sonic punishment with surgical precision. Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Megan Burtt (a standout presence in a male-dominated genre), the band carved its name into the extreme metal scene with blistering releases like their 2016 album *Mechanisms of Omniscience* via Metal Blade Records. Known for merging hyper-speed riffage, guttural vocals, and sci-fi/horror-themed lyrics, they shared stages with giants like Cannibal Corpse and The Black Dahlia Murder while earning respect for their 2007 demo’s raw intensity and later works like *Sociopathic Constructs*. After pulverizing eardrums for over a decade, the band went on indefinite hiatus in 2019, leaving a trail of demolished necks and blown speaker cones in their wake.
