The Lurking Fear
The Lurking Fear is a Swedish death metal band formed in 2016, featuring members from notable acts like At the Gates, Skitsystem, and Disfear. With a sound deeply rooted in old-school death metal, the band brings a raw and aggressive style influenced by classic horror themes and Lovecraftian imagery. Vocalist Tomas Lindberg leads the charge with his unmistakable growl, while the rest of the lineup delivers a punishing yet atmospheric blend of riffs and relentless rhythms.
Their debut full-length, "Out of the Voiceless Grave," dropped in 2017 and set the tone with its grim, chaotic energy and vintage death metal flair. In 2021, they followed up with "Death, Madness, Horror, Decay," doubling down on their morbid aesthetic and crushing sound. The Lurking Fear is all about channeling the primal, unfiltered spirit of death metal’s early days while adding their own dark twist.
