Elandré

Elandré Schwartz, known simply as Elandré, is a South African musician born on August 28, 1995, in Despatch, Eastern Cape. He began his artistic journey at 19 when he moved to Cape Town to study at the Waterfront Theatre School. Elandré gained widespread recognition after a video of his cover of Bruce Springsteen’s "Tougher than the Rest" went viral, garnering over a million views in July 2023. This breakthrough led to a record deal offer from Select Music and appearances on Bok Radio. Since his debut album *Kleindorpdromer* in 2017, which quickly achieved gold status, Elandré has built a diverse discography with albums like *Boomhuis* (2019), *Rugsak* (2021), and *Estetika* (2023). His music blends Afrikaans alternative garage rock with pop elements, earning him a loyal fan base and establishing him as a prominent figure in the Afrikaans music scene. Notable singles such as "Hand Aan Hand" and "Lieflik" have been certified gold, reflecting his strong connection to his musical roots and his innovative approach to Afrikaans music.
