Mathilde Grooss Viddal is a versatile Norwegian musician, composer, and bandleader born in Oslo in 1969, whose work in jazz and contemporary music is celebrated for its genre-blurring creativity and accessibility. She leads the improvising ensemble Friensemblet (formerly Chateau Neuf Fri Ensemble), runs her own label Giraffa Records, and has collaborated widely, including with Trude Eick (Eick/Viddal Duo) and international artists such as Naïssam Jalal.
