Lalgudi G. Jayaraman

Lalgudi G. Jayaraman was an eminent Indian violinist, composer, and a major figure in the Carnatic music tradition. Born on September 17, 1930, in the town of Lalgudi in Tamil Nadu, India, he stemmed from a lineage of accomplished musicians and took up the violin at a young age under the guidance of his father, V.R. Gopala Iyer. Jayaraman masterfully adapted vocal techniques to the violin, which earned him the reputation of being one of the foremost violinists in the history of Carnatic music.

Throughout his illustrious career, Lalgudi Jayaraman performed internationally, captivating audiences with his lyrical finesse and emotional depth.
