Jacques Hétu is a Canadian composer born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec in 1938. He studied music at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal and later in Paris with Nadia Boulanger. Hétu's music is often characterized by its use of traditional forms and techniques, as well as its incorporation of elements of Canadian folk music. He has composed a wide range of works, including symphonies, concertos, chamber music, and operas. Hétu has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Order of Canada and the Prix Denise-Pelletier.
