M. S. Rajeswari was a legendary Indian playback singer known especially for her melodious voice in Tamil cinema, though she also sang in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. Born in 1932, she recorded over 500 songs during her long career which began in the mid-1940s. She was particularly famous for lending her voice to child artists in movies, with memorable songs like "Ammavum Neeye Appavum Neeye" from Kamal Haasan’s debut film *Kalathur Kannama*. Her career included collaborations with many notable music directors such as K. V. Mahadevan, Shankar–Ganesh, and others. Rajeswari passed away in 2018 at the age of 87 due to age-related ailments.
