Lhasa De Sela was a Mexican-American singer-songwriter known for her haunting and ethereal vocals. Born in New York City to Mexican parents, she spent her childhood in Mexico and Canada before settling in Montreal. Her music blended elements of folk, jazz, and world music, with lyrics that often explored themes of love, loss, and spirituality. De Sela's unique voice and captivating performances earned her a devoted following, and she released several critically acclaimed albums before her untimely death in 2010 at the age of 37.
