Nekropsi

Nekropsi is a unique and influential band hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, known for their genre-defying sound that masterfully blends elements of progressive rock, experimental metal, and avant-garde jazz fusion. Formed in the early 1990s by a group of high school friends—Cem Ömeroglu (guitar), Gökhan Goralı (bass), Cevdet Erek (drums), and Kerem Tüzün (guitar)—Nekropsi began their musical journey with a sound deeply rooted in thrash metal, yet their relentless desire to push musical boundaries has always been the core of their identity. Their innovative approach to music and complex compositions have earned them a dedicated following and notable respect within the international music community.

Over the years, Nekropsi's evolution has been marked by a series of releases that showcase their daring experimentation and craftsmanship. One of their most acclaimed works, "Mi Kubbesi," released in 1996, is a testament to their ability to create intellectually engaging music that defies easy categorization. They continued to explore new sonic territories with subsequent albums such as "2" (2002) and a self-titled release "Nekropsi 1998" (2013), which revisited and reimagined their original 1998 demo. Their more recent works, such as "Aylık Monthly" and "Helezon," continue to solidify Nekropsi's reputation as avant-garde pioneers, creating a soundscape that is unpredictable yet meticulously arranged—always challenging the perceptions of traditional music structures and listener expectations.
